Couple Ginkgoメオトイチョウ
Within the grounds of Miyanoura Shrine in Fukuyama Town, towers a pair of ginkgo trees over 1,000 years old. 🌳🌳
These ginkgo trees are said to have been planted to commemorate Emperor Jimmu's temporary palace here during his expedition to the east, and are designated a natural monument by Kagoshima Prefecture.
In spring, the trunks sprout young leaves, turning golden in autumn, and in early winter, the grounds are carpeted in a yellow hue, creating a mystical scene that seems enveloped in light.
Across Kinko Bay from the shrine, you can see Sakurajima. ⛰️
This is a spot where you can enjoy the beauty of nature as it changes with the seasons.
