Wake Parkワケコウエン

Wake Park in Kirishima City is a popular spot known for its beautiful wisteria flowers that bloom in the spring.
Every year from late April to early May, about 1,000 wisteria flowers decorate the park. The purple and white flowers swaying in the wind are very fantastic and make great photos!
You can feel the spring air while surrounded by the scent of flowers, which heals visitors.
The park also has Wake Shrine, which enshrines Wake no Kiyomaro, a politician from the Nara period. The shrine has a magnificent boar statue, which is also popular as the "guardian deity of the legs and hips."
There is also a spacious lawn and a promenade along the river, so it is recommended for those who want to relax in nature.
There is also an observation deck a little up the park, where you can see the entire wisteria, making it a hidden gem.
It is a popular spot for families with small children and tourists who stop by on their drives.
In the past, a "Wisteria Festival" was also held here, with food stalls lined up.
You can feel refreshed surrounded by greenery not only during the wisteria season but also in other seasons. Why not take a break at Wake Park during your sightseeing in Kirishima?
